Pork Ribs

Baked in the oven accompanied by BBQ sauce!

Materials

  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 ½ kilos pork ribs
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce, homemade or store-bought


Step by step process

1) Preheat the oven to 150°C with a rack in the center position.

2) In a small bowl, combine the salt, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and cayenne.

3) Rub the ribs with the seasoning. Place the ribs, meat side up, in a large baking dish. If necessary, cut some ribs from the rack and arrange them to fit in the baking dish.

4) Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 2½ to 3 hours or until the meat falls easily off the bone.

5) Remove the ribs from the oven. Set aside the foil, then brush both sides of the cooked ribs with ½ cup of barbecue sauce.

6) Turn the grill to HIGH. Return the ribs to the oven and broil for 2 to 4 minutes, until the barbecue sauce begins to caramelize. Remove from the oven, cover the ribs with aluminum foil, and let rest for 10 minutes.

7) Serve hot with the remaining bbq sauce.
