Tomahawk Buffaloes of Serres, Greece
Tomahawk steak is a cut of beef that has five or more inches of extra bone for presentation. It's called a "tomahawk" because the long bone steak looks like an axe.
Buffalo meat is the red meat with the lowest fat and extremely high nutritional value, and it is a delicious nutritious food. In a beautiful area, near the Greek-Bulgarian border, in the north-western edge of Serres prefecture and on the shores of Lake Kerkini and Strymons, fifteen buffalo breeders raise in free grazing conditions, approximately 3,500 animals.
