Περιγραφή
The name of the wine refers to the wonderful movie "Sideways". However, the similarities stop at the title, since those who have seen the film will remember the protagonist's aversion to Merlot. On the other hand, with 85% Merlot in its blend, this excellent red of Biblia Chora proves the estate's "loyalty" to the most widely planted grape worldwide, a variety that also succeeds in the case of "Plagios", to produce a wine international standards.
Deep purple, almost impenetrable color, one of those that predispose, at least visually, to high quality in the sequel. The 'sweetness' of the aromas on the nose revolves around ripe red fruits, and plums, milk chocolate and sweet spices such as vanilla and licorice. 'It's all about sweetness of aromas' the English would say, for this 'nose' style of wine. In the mouth the wine is dry, without tensions, 'corners' or flare-ups. Both Merlot and Agiorgitiko, moreover, are distinguished by their mild character, with tannins which, while they are present in relative abundance due to their youth, are "velvety" and soft. The aftertaste is fruity and developing into aromas of chocolate and oak. The wine is immediately ready for consumption, but it will be able to develop further for another 5 to 10 years.
Varietal composition: Merlot 85%, Agiorgitiko 15%
Characteristics: Wine with an intense red color, which matures for 16 months in new oak barrels. Intense aromas of red fruit, chocolate, cedar and nuts. The careful selection of grapes from the estate's low yield vineyard and its aging in oak barrels for 16 months give a full-bodied, robust, well-structured wine with pleasant oiliness, enough tannins and great ageability.
Serving temperature: 18 ℃.
