Innovation Award at the Ecotrophelia 2013 Competition from the Association of Greek Food Industries (SEBT).
Part of the European competition Ecotrophelia, within the framework of the EU program. Eco-Innovation/EcoTroFood. Prize money for the product "Through Olives and Air", an air salami without any chemical additives and without nitrites, with the addition of selected protective cultures and olive polyphenols as a natural antimicrobial and antioxidant ingredient. The product was developed under the design and supervision of Dr. Ioannis Giavasis, the students of Mario Kandylakis, Efthimios Tsimtsirakis and Sergios Touhikian, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Konstantinos Petrotos, the meat industry TSIANAVAS ABEE and the polyphenol production company Polyhealth AE The product was launched on the Greek market under the title "Through Olives and Air" in early 2014, after the relevant patent was granted by the Industrial Property Organization.

Recognition and inclusion of the award-winning product "Through Olives & Air" (air salami with olive polyphenols without preservatives and chemical additives developed at the Department of Food Technology of TEI Thessaly under the supervision of Mr. Giavasis Ioannis) in a European edition-book of the European organization Ecotrophelia with the description of successful innovative and award-winning foods that led to industrial applications (European Food Innovation-Ecotrophelia Success Stories, p. 6/31). International promotion and presentation of the product as part of the SIAL exhibition, Paris, October 19-20, 2014 (it was one of the two unique products from Greece).

Participation by invitation, with the SEBT award-winning product "Through Olives & Air" developed under the supervision of Mr. Giavasis, in an honorary event-conference of Ecotrophelia Europe at the exhibition Milan FoodExpo 2015 (7/2015) for the promotion and awarding the successful success stories of European innovative foods that were launched on the European market after being distinguished in the European Ecotrophelia competition.
