You will see many soap recipes that have beef tallow as an ingredient. It's not some magic ingredient, it's just melted and filtered fat from beef or veal. English speakers call beef fat "tallow" and pork fat "lard".
Tallow gives unique properties to soap and cosmetics. And unlike other oils and fats, you can make this fat in your kitchen! The irony of the matter is that you are given the option to buy ready-made, packaged tallow from shops with raw materials for soap making. But why;;;;
Tallow and cooking This fat is not only used for making soap but also in cooking. It is an excellent source of B vitamins (B2, B3, B6, B12), vitamins D and K, iron, phosphorus, selenium and potassium. It is an extremely stable cooking fat at high temperatures and ideal for frying. Why; Beef fat consists of 50% saturated fatty acids, 42% monounsaturated fats and 4% polyunsaturated fatty acids. Polyunsaturated fats, such as vegetable oils, should not be heated too much during cooking because they oxidize and become burdensome for our health. For the same reason, coconut oil, which consists mainly of saturated fat, is considered one of the best fats for cooking and frying.
