How many of you don't leave ground beef on the kitchen counter to defrost for the next day? But is this way safe? When we leave minced meat for several hours in a warm environment, such as room temperature, bacteria can grow in it! Especially during the summer months, defrosting on the counter is strictly prohibited, as is of course defrosting with hot water!
But let's look at the three safest ways to defrost:
Defrost in the refrigerator
Yes, more time, but more safety!
Defrost in cold water
You seal the minced meat "package" well and immerse it in cold water, which you should renew almost every 30 minutes! We do NOT use hot or lukewarm water!
Defrost in a microwave oven
Place the minced meat in a suitable container, without its packaging, and select the defrost function! If you choose the defrosting method this mince should be cooked immediately!
!!! For foods such as minced meat for spaghetti, there is no need to defrost the minced meat. We simply throw it into the pot and while it heats up, we start pressing the edges with a fork, which gradually thaw.
