A simple, quick recipe for adults and children.
Materials
450 g minced beef
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 cups beef broth, chicken broth, or hot water (we prefer a mixture of beef and chicken broth)
1½ cups milk
250 g pasta
250 g freshly grated cheddar cheese (about 2 cups)
Chopped fresh parsley, for serving (optional)
Step by step process
Heat a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the meat and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. Transfer the meat to a colander set over a bowl to drain the fat.
Return the meat to the pot. Stir the tomato paste, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, chili powder, sugar, salt, and pepper into the browned meat. Add the butter and cook, stirring, until melted, about 1 minute. Add the flour until well blended, about 1 minute more.
Add the broth and milk and bring to a boil. Once the mixture boils, add the pasta and cook, stirring constantly, until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened, about 6 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the cheese until melted. Serve with parsley, if desired.
Enjoy your meal!
