The Farma Chitas Suckling Pig Leg is one of those pieces that “comes out on its own”: tender, juicy and incredibly fine, with that characteristic sweetness of milk that makes the roast smell musky. The leg, as a piece, combines meat and the right amount of fat, so that it does not dry out and comes out with a crispy skin when you give it the right finish.

🔥 Cooking Method (recommended – oven/grill)

Slow cooking for tenderness + strong finish for skin

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 160–170°C .
2️⃣ Salt well and rub the skin with a little olive oil. Optional: garlic, rosemary, thyme.
3️⃣ Place in a baking dish/pot with ½–1 glass of water or broth (and potatoes if you like).
4️⃣ Bake, covered, for 2–3 hours (depending on weight), until tender.
5️⃣ Uncover and increase to 220°C for 15–25 minutes to crisp the skin .
6️⃣ Let it “rest” for 10 minutes before cutting it.

✅ Ready when the meat flakes easily and the juices run clear.


💡 Chef's Tip

• For a “glassy” skin: at the end, before deep frying, wipe the skin with kitchen paper and sprinkle with a little extra salt.
• Don't cut it as soon as it comes out — resting keeps all the juiciness inside.
