Call the bold, call the visionaries, three young people, Yiannis Valambous, Ilias Roussakis and Yiannis Papaoikonomou, dared to invest money and countless personal efforts in an island whose vineyard is constantly shrinking for the sake of tourism development.

One of the newest wineries of Santorini returns with an Assyrtiko that has already established itself among the best of the island and has conquered the planet. With a name inspired by the black volcanic rock formed by the cooling of basaltic lava that covered the island of Santorini after the volcano erupted almost 4,000 years ago, the Basaltis winery is now ready to produce great wines and host countless visitors of the island.

Vasaltis Winery's Santorini 2023 gives the island and Assyrtiko the absolute leading role. The particularly low yield per hectare which does not exceed 150 – 200 kg / hectare ensures the concentration of the fruit. Aging on the lees for 6 months, with regular batonnage, added volume and complexity, making it a highly enjoyable Santorini both now and 5 years from now. Rich and exuberant, it perfectly incorporates all the mineral character of the island, claiming a place among the big names.
