🐗🥩🇬🇷 Greek Wild Boar Steaks
Greek Wild Boar Chops • Rich & Rustic Flavor • Ideal for Slow Cook & Grill • Ready-to-Cook
Greek Wild Boar Steaks are a cut with an authentic character: more "wild" and deep flavor than classic pork, with a firmer texture that rewards when cooked properly. Ideal for wine-based recipes, casseroles or slow roasting in the oven, but also for grilling when properly marinated.
It is the meat that brings mountain aromas, smoke and tradition to the plate.

⚠️ Important
❗ The product is not ready to eat — full cooking is required before serving.
✅ For a more tender result, marinating or slow cooking is recommended.
🔥 Cooking Method (recommended – oven/casserole)
1️⃣ Marinate (optional but ideal) with red wine, garlic, rosemary, bay leaf for 4–12 hours.
2️⃣ Preheat oven to 170–180°C .
3️⃣ Place in a baking dish/pot with a little liquid (wine/broth) and cover.
4️⃣ Bake for 80–120 minutes (depending on thickness), until tender.
5️⃣ Uncover for 10–15 minutes for nice browning.
Grill / BBQ (alternative)
• After marinating, grill over medium heat for 6–8 minutes per side , so that it cooks properly and does not dry out.
✅ Ready when fully cooked in the center.
💡 Chef's Tip
• Wild boar loves “warm” aromas: allspice, cumin, bay leaf, rosemary , and a little orange in the marinade makes it stand out.
• Don't overcook it "dry" — prefer liquids, a lid, and time.
🍽️ Combinations & Serving
• Baked potatoes, mashed potatoes or polenta
• Noodles or barley
• Cabbage/red cabbage, mushrooms, chestnuts (festive)
• Full-bodied red wine (Xinomavro, Agiorgitiko, Syrah)
