Malagouzia is a crystalline and crisp Greek variety, with a bright green-yellow color and an intense aroma with notes of flowers, citrus fruits and subtle aromatic herbs.
In the mouth it is full with excellent balance – freshness and finesse and has a lively and long lasting aftertaste.
Varietal Composition: Malagouzia 100%.
Location: "Turtles", altitude 670 meters, with northwest orientation, towards Mount Voras.
Area: "Abelia", Viticultural zone of Amyntaio.
Vineyard: Linear single privately owned vineyard of 690 acres.
Soil: Sandy - loamy, on a limestone substrate, with excellent drainage.
Climate: Semi-continental with significant snowfall and hot, dry summer with cool nights. Usual appearance of northwesterly winds, absence of spring frost. Cool year with relatively intense dry heat conditions during ripening. The consecutive days of sunshine that preceded the harvest contributed to excellent sugar maturation, while the cool nights from the end of August allowed the grapes to retain crisp acidity and a complex aromatic expressiveness.
Acre Yield: 760 kg per hectare.
Vinification: Pre-fermentative extraction in a controlled environment, alcoholic fermentation at graded temperatures, wine remaining for 2 months on its lees with periodic stirring.
Organoleptic characteristics: Crystalline and bright with a pale yellow color, with slight greenish highlights. Intense nose, typical of the variety, with aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits and subtle aromatic herbs. In the mouth it is full with excellent balance-coolness and finesse. Lively and long-lasting aftertaste.
