An excellent accompaniment to Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. It is widely used to flavor delicate dishes and sauces. It is also common to use capers as a spicy addition to summer tomato salads or even to cabbage salads. Capers are also attributed with healing properties. The bark of the root is used in the treatment of various diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, toothache and skin diseases.
